Understanding in Moments was originally written as a contribution to Work is Love Made Visible, a collection of essays exploring purpose, meaning, and the human experiences that shape how we live and work. The book brings together diverse voices reflecting on the moments that redefine how we see ourselves, our work, and our place in the world.
My contribution explores how understanding often arrives quietly — through unexpected encounters, shared vulnerability, and the spaces between what happens to us and how we choose to respond. Drawn from time spent working in humanitarian contexts, the chapter reflects on the small, deeply human moments that shift perspective and open the door to deeper connection.
Work is Love Made Visible invites us to consider purpose not as a distant destination, but as something discovered through lived experience — through challenges, relationships, and the courage to remain open to change.
